General Academic Information
"Your Connection" Your Connection is Fredonia's primary resource for finding out information concerning things such as: financial information, current course selection and schedule, your unofficial transcript, and finding other students contact information. You will also use it for course registration, and if you would like to, pay your tuition bill. Generally, if you need to know something about your status as a student, you can look through Your Connection.
- Your Connection can be accessed through Fredonia's home page.
- Your Log-in will be your Fredonia ID number which you can find out at the Registrar's Office in Maytum Hall, as well as your password if you do not know them.
- If a wrong password is entered for more than three times when trying to access a Your Connection account, the said account will be locked for security reason and won't be available for access, even with the correct password, until you unlock it. To unlock a Your Connection account, you will need to contact the Office of the Registrar, or visit their office located on the first floor of Maytum.
- You should check Student Records to make sure that you have no financial Holds on your account and that your academic standing is good.
- Make sure your contact information is up to date.
Student Account Holds
If you have a Hold on your student account, you will not be able to register for the upcoming semester, or get copies your transcript. The Hold feature is used by several departments on campus and can only be cleared by the department that put the hold on your account. Here are some of the examples that can cause a Hold to be placed on your student account:
- Unpaid tuition and fees.
- Unpaid parking tickets, library late fee, or other such charges.
- Incomplete or missing Health History Form and/or immunization record.
- Insufficient Health Insurance.
- Failure to declare a major after completing 60 credit hours.
You can view your Hold status through Your Connection on the Fredonia website. Check it often and make sure your Hold status is clear. If you have questions regarding a Hold on your account, contact the department that put it there.
How to Register for Classes
Registering for class is simple. Go see your academic advisor to talk about what you want to take and pick up you PIN registration card. Then go to Your Connection from Fredonia's website to find out what is being offered and then add the classes you and your advisor discussed to your schedule. If you do not know who your advisor is, call the secretary of the department of your major program to find out, or, if you are a Liberal Arts student, contact the Academic Advising Office.
