I spent my semester abroad studying at Northumbria University in Newcastle Upon Tyne located in Northeast England. The time that I spent abroad is something that I will never forget and that I will always cherish. The campus itself is located in the heart of the city and there was always something to do. The Northumbia Student Union is located in the middle of the campus and includes a pub, convenience store, bookstore as well as a study lounge. There was always something going on in there whether it be karaoke night or the Newcastle beer and cider festival, and most events are free. The public transportation system there was phenomenal. The diversity of the student body made it very easy to make friends especially since many of the other students are international students as well. I was able to meet people from all over the UK, China, Indonesia, France, South Korea, Mexico and even some other American students, all of whom I still keep in contact with. After spending a semester in Newcastle it began to feel like home and I am definitely planning to revisit the city again in the near future.
