Program Description:
Now entering its second decade, the American University in Bulgaria, a highly selective private university, attracts students and faculty from countries all over the world. Located in the city of Blagoevgrad, AUBG lies at the foot of the Rila and Pirin mountains, one hour from the capital, Sofia and just 130 km to Greece. Blagoevgrad serves as the cultural center of the region with a professional theater, an opera house, a national folk ensemble, numerous art galleries, a historical museum, cinemas, preserved traditional architecture, and a local sports federation. AUBG offers an American-style liberal arts education with English as the language of instruction. Students interested in European Studies, Business Administration, Economics, History, International Studies, Journalism and Mass Communication, Math, and Political Science, will find the curriculum stimulating. US and Bulgarian students live side by side in residence halls. Meals are offered at the university dining hall and in the residence hall cafes.
