Education, Culture and History of China
Course Description: SUNY Fredonia is offering a new short-term study abroad summer program in China for students and community members interested in more than a tourist’s experience. Led by a Chinese native and a professor with international travel experiences, this program intends to broaden participants’ understanding of not only Chinese history but also its education and culture. Participants will have excursions to some of China’s most noteworthy historical and religious sites in Shanghai, Beijing, and Xi’an. Participants will also learn about China’s educational system in their visits to classrooms in a small Chinese city. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to experience popular forms of transportation in China, including the bicycle, bus, and train.
