Mobile Device/Email Client Setup Guide

  1. Register your password.
    To read your FREDmail when using a mobile device like a Smartphone, or with another email client (Outlook, Apple Mail, etc) or you will need to register your password BEFORE attempting to set up your device or client. This form is also used to change your password. NOTE: When registering your password for use with mobile devices, you are NOT REQUIRED TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD. Your existing password can be entered into all 3 fields.

  2. Turn on IMAP in Google Apps.
    The instructions for this process can be found HERE

  3. Setup your droid for email, calendar & contacts.
    To set up your droid, follow the instructions on the Google Apps Resources site and use this SUNY Fredonia-specific information:
    • Username
      Enter your eServicesUserName@fredonia.edu
    • Password
      Enter the password you registered in step #1
  4. Setup your mobile device or email client FOR EMAIL ONLY.
    To set up your mobile device or desktop client, follow the instructions for your particular client or device on the Google Help Center Web site and use this SUNY Fredonia-specific information:
    • Username
      Enter your eServicesUserName@fredonia.edu
    • Password
      Enter the password you registered in step #1
  5. Setup your mobile device FOR EMAIL, CALENDAR & CONTACTS.
    To setup your mobile device to sync email, calendar and contacts, follow the instructions for your particular device on the Google Sync for Your Phone site and use this SUNY Fredonia-specific information:
    • Username
      Enter your eServicesUserName@fredonia.edu
    • Password
      Enter the password you registered in step #1
