Registration or Admission Status Information
A. Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students wishing to enroll for J-Term courses
must meet the prerequisites of the course(s) in which they would like
to register and one of the following criteria for eligibility.
- FREDONIA UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS who were registered during
the Spring Semester 2007 and who are in good academic standing may
register for J-Term courses.
- FORMER FREDONIA UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS who were not registered for the Spring Semester 2007 must request readmission.
- NEW FREDONIA FRESHMEN OR TRANSFERS ADMITTED FOR THE FALL
SEMESTER 2007 are eligible to register for J-Term courses and begin
matriculation toward their degree. If you have not applied for
admission to the University for the Spring Semester 2008 and wish to,
contact the Office of Admissions, Fenner House, 673-3251. Registrations for J-Term will not be processed until your application for the spring semester has been approved.
- NEW CONTINUING EDUCATION AND VISITING STUDENTS who have not attended SUNY Fredonia should contact Lifelong Learning & Special Programs, S-125 Williams Center, 716.673.3177 as far in advance of registration as possible.
- FORMER CONTINUING EDUCATION STUDENTS who have not
registered since the Spring Semester 2007 should contact Lifelong
Learning and Special Programs, S-125 Williams Center, 716.673.3177 as
far in advance of
registration as possible.
B. Graduate Students
- FREDONIA STUDENTS WHO COMPLETED AN UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE
from Fredonia should indicate the date the bachelor's degree was
awarded.
- FORMER FREDONIA GRADUATE STUDENTS who were enrolled during
any of the preceding semesters (Summer 2006, Fall 2006, Spring 2007)
are eligible for enrollment and need only to submit the registration
form with payment to complete registration.
- STUDENTS ALREADY ADMITTED FOR THE J-TERM SESSION also need
only to submit the registration form with payment to complete
registration.
- STUDENTS NOT QUALIFYING UNDER (1) or (2) above must, in
addition to the registration form, include a valid transcript copy
showing the awarding of a bachelor's degree. This is to be done at the
time of registration whether by mail or in person.
REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED UNLESS THIS PROOF OF DEGREE IS
SUBMITTED. Former Fredonia students need not submit proof of degree but
must indicate degree and year awarded on the registration form.

Student Status & Tuition
- Undergraduate, degree, regularly enrolled at Fredonia, use Per Credit Hour SCHEDULE A.
- Graduate, degree or permanent certification (curriculum
code begins with 6 or 7) eligible to register at Fredonia, use Per
Credit Hour SCHEDULE B.
- Visiting Students
A. Undergraduate Students - must
submit with this registration a statement from home college or
university confirming class level at the end of Fall Semester 2006.
- Students with Undergraduate status - USE SCHEDULE A
- Non-matriculated (non-degree) - SEE NO. 4 BELOW
B. Graduate Students
- Students with Graduate Degree status or enrolled at home college
or university in a Permanent Teacher Certification Program - USE
SCHEDULE B
- Non-matriculated (non-degree) graduate students are charged by
the level of the course. Please refer to "Fee Payment Examples" number
two.
- All non-degree (non-matriculated) students (Fredonia or Visiting)

ENROLLMENT / TUITION AND FEES PER CREDIT HOUR
To calculate the "course fee", multiply the number of
credit hours for each course by the appropriate "fee per credit hour"
(see Tuition and Fee schedule below). Add all course fees to determine
the total balance due.

Note: Full-time rates do not apply for J-Term semesters; tuition is calculated at the part-time per credit hour rate.

Course Request Information
- Indicate the J-Term session.
- IMPORTANT: Course Reference Number. Indicate the 5-digit course reference number listed in the far left column.
- Indicate Subject Code (3/4 letters after the 5-digit course reference number).
- Course number. For example, ART 115, write "115" in the Course Number Column.
- Indicate the section number you are requesting and the credit hours for your course.
- If you register by mail, written confirmation of your
registration will be mailed to the mailing address you indicate on the
registration form.
COURSE
LOAD: During J-Term, students may enroll for a maximum of 4 credit
hours. In order to be considered for an exception, students must submit
a letter to the Director of Lifelong Learning & Special Programs explaining their individual cases.
Approvals/denials will be provided in writing and copies sent to
pertinent campus offices before students are eligible to register for
additional credit.

Fee Payment Information
If you have a question regarding fee payment, please contact the Office of Student Accounts 716.673.3236.
According to SUNY policy, no student is allowed to re-register
for future semesters until all tuition, fees and other current
financial liabilities have been paid.
PAYMENT IN FULL MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION TO AVOID BEING DROPPED FROM CLASSES.
Multiply the number of credit hours for each course by the appropriate "fee per credit hour" to arrive at the "course fee" (see Tuition and Fee schedule). Add all course fees to arrive at the total fee due.
Check or money order for full payment should be made payable to "STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK AT FREDONIA." You may not defer payment of amount due.

*Waiver of Tuition: If you are
presenting a valid cooperative teacher Tuition Waiver Certificate in
lieu of cash payment toward tuition, attach certificate and payment for
balance of tuition and fees. If you have been authorized for other
types of waiver of tuition (i.e., Graduate Assistant, Employee, etc.)
attach to your registration form an explanatory statement and payment
for balance of tuition and fees.
Please Note: Tuition waivers may only be applied toward the tuition charge.

In-Person Registration Information
J-Term Session: December 11, 2007 - January 4, 2008

Payment must be made at time of registration.
Graduate students who do not meet the eligibility requirements to register for graduate courses (see Graduate Eligibility section)
must bring verification of their baccalaureate degree at the time of
registration. A valid undergraduate transcript or photocopy is
acceptable verification. REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR
GRADUATE STUDENTS FAILING TO MEET THIS REQUIREMENT.

Refund Schedule
The College Fee is not refundable after Registration
Day. Tuition and Student Services and Programs Fee refunds are based on
the day that the Office of the Registrar records the drop. It is the
student's obligation to notify the Registrar. Notifying the course
instructor is not valid for purposes of tuition refund.
Tuition and Fee refunds are based on the day of the drop (see schedule
below). The first week ends on Friday of the week the course begins. If
the course begins on Thursday, the second day (Friday) is the end of
the first week.
