College presents opportunity to promote environmental
thoughts of students in America
The American Society for Environmental History (ASEH), in conjunction
with Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA is currently looking for submissions for the Colloquium on the Americas entitled Environmentalities.
The ASEH seeks to promote scholarship and teaching in environmental history and hopes to connect their ideas with larger communities.
The Colloquium for the Americas hopes to discuss the peoples of the Americas and how they relate to the natural world.
Mercyhurst is looking for submissions that discuss a wide range of topics including
environmental activism and indigenous movements, literature/cinema and the environment,
environment, ecology and/or nature in politics, globalization and environmental justice and the legacies of manifest destiny.
To participate in the colloquium send an abstract of 300 words with a cover letter including your name, academic affiliation and the proposal’s title by Nov. 9, 2007 to Dr. Douglas Boudreau, Deptartment of World Languages and Cultures, Mercyhurst College, 501 East 38 Street, Erie, PA 16546-0001.
