All visitors, alumni and community members are permitted to use designated computers at Daniel A. Reed Library when student use is low. As such, community members may use the pre-installed software programs, perform Internet searches and access the library's catalog and subject databases. The library staff reserves the right to restrict the computer use of community members when use by SUNY Fredonia students is high priority.
Please be aware that only certain machines are programmed for community use. If the community use machines are occupied, the community member will have to wait until the machine is open.
All visitors, alumni and community members must register for computer use at the library's Circulation Desk. A valid photo ID is required at time of registration. When registering, individuals will have the option to request a short-term or long-term account that can be used to log on to the designated library computers. Short-term accounts will expire after one day. Long term accounts will expire on February 1st and September 1st each year. Individuals can reapply for a new username and password at the end of that expiration date.
Registration for computer use is restricted to those over the age of 18. Parents, legal guardians, or care providers are responsible for supervising their children's use of the Internet. The Library bears no responsibility for Internet content. (August 2008)
