ANGEL Training Workshops
ANGEL Learning Management System workshops cover a variety of topics. We strongly recommend that you take either the Introduction to ANGEL or the ANGEL for Groups workshops before you take the others unless you are comfortable with the basics of ANGEL.
Introduction to ANGEL (2 hours)
This introductory workshop is geared toward faculty use of ANGEL for courses. Jargon, rules, features, navigation, essential course settings and how to add content are the main topics covered in this workshop. With a focus on navigation and basic course management, this workshop is for those who are teaching who want to get started with ANGEL.
What's New in ANGEL 7.2 (1 hour)
This class will cover the changes and features in the new version of ANGEL. This includes changes to the Mail feature, changes to creating groups, the differences between the Quizzes and Assessments and an overview of the many enhancements that came with ANGEL 7.2.
ANGEL for Groups (1 hour)
ANGEL for Groups is a quick overview of how to add content to an ANGEL communtiy group. This course focuses on managing the content, settings and rosters for ANGEL community groups. Since ANGEL groups are so similar to ANGEL courses, it can be taken as a quick version of the Introduction to ANGEL workshop.
ANGEL Quizzes, Surveys & Games (2 hours)
This workshop teaches you how to create ANGEL surveys, quizzes and games. Learn how to access the survey results, connect tests to the gradebook and get suggestions for avoiding the problems and excuses that can accompanying the use of online assessment tools.
ANGEL Gradebook (1 hour workshop, 1 hour lab)
ANGEL features a gradebook that not only records and calculates student grades, but also allows the students to view their individual grades. The first part of this workshop covers the gradebook features. The second half is a working session so faculty may set up a gradebook with guidance and assistance. Faculty members will leave with a completed gradebook for one course so please be sure to bring your assignments and point values for one of your courses to this workshop.
ANGEL Maintenance (1 hour)
Want suggestions on managing your ANGEL content from semester to semester? This workshop offers tips and guidelines for backing up, migrating, merging, importing and exporting your content. It also gives an overview of the use of shared content repositories.
ANGEL Communication (1 hour)
This workshop focuses on interactive features of ANGEL such as discussion boards, chat, email, announcements, news, polls and live office hours.
ANGEL Teams (½ hour workshop , ½ hour lab)
Learn about how to use ANGEL for small groups in your courses or community groups. This workshop covers team creation, random team generator, file spaces, content access, email and team leaders. Bring your team needs to the workshop and take advantage of the working session where you can set-up teams for one of your sections.
