The Cornplanter Monument

cornplanter descendants This image, circa 1910, shows a group of Senecas gathered at the Cornplanter Monument on the Cornplanter Land Grant near Kinzua, PA. The land grant and the town were flooded in 1964 with the construction and filling of the Kinzua Dam and reservoir. The study of the Seneca Nation was a specialty of the former archivist here at SUNY Fredonia, and our collection includes books, pamphlets, serials, manuscript and archival collections, iconographic materials, audio-visual materials, maps and microforms.
