Lodging
A number of rooms have been reserved at the White Inn Hotel (http://www.whiteinn.com) in downtown Fredonia where symposium participants will receive a 10% discount off the regular room rate. Because all rooms in this historic hotel are different, prices vary from $89 for a regular-size bedroom to $159 for the presidential suite. All room rates include full breakfast.
Participants are responsible for contacting the White Inn by telephone (716-672-2103) in order to reserve the particular room of their choice.
The White Inn is located within walking distance of the Fredonia Opera House, where the screening of Sylvio Back's Lost Zweig will take place. It is also close to a bus stop for the university shuttle service to campus, as well as restaurants in the downtown Fredonia area.
Alternative accommodation options in the Fredonia area include the Comfort Inn and the Days Inn. Both are within a short drive to campus.
Transportation
SUNY Fredonia is located in Fredonia, NY, about an hour southwest of Buffalo, NY, and an hour northeast of Erie, PA, off exit 59 on the I-90 thruway.
Participants who will be arriving by air are encouraged to fly into Buffalo or Erie and to arrage for a car rental or a taxi since Fredonia is difficult to reach by public transportation. Both airports carry multiple rental car providers such as Enterprise, Budget, and Hertz. For more information, see:
