To qualify for the McNair Scholars Program you must be interested in working towards a doctoral degree, and willing to make a commitment of your time and talent to achieve this goal.

We are looking for students who are academically sound, and willing to accept accountability as we journey together preparing you for success in the world of graduate studies.

We provide structured learning skill workshops and developmental experiences. You provide the energy and determination needed to succeed.

How do I apply? 

Eligibility Requirements
You may be eligible if you are:

A U.S. Citizen or permanent resident

And either of the following:

A first generation college student from an income eligibile family

OR

A member of a group historically underrepresented in your field of study
(examples: Native American, Hispanic, African American, etc.)

We encourage you to talk to a McNair staff member or submit an application. It's the only way you can be sure if you qualify or not!
