Ensemble Audition Information
One need not be a music major to audition for any ensemble. Only 2 ensembles, All College Band and University Chorus, do not require an audition.
All Music Majors enrolled in curricular lessons are required to audition for ensemble placement.
Choral Auditions (Fall 2011)

For Fredonia Chamber Choir | College Choir | Women's Chorus
College Choir and Women's Choir auditions will consist of scales, pitch matching, rhythm matching and sight singing. No prepared selection is necessary.
Chamber Choir auditions will require a prepared aria or art song of the singer's choosing. An accompanist will be provided. The audition will also consist of sales, pitch matching, rhythm matching and sight singing.

Sign up sheets will posted on the door of Room 2149 two days before auditions begin.
The School of Music at the State University of New York at Fredonia has FOUR outstanding choirs in which you may participate:
- THE FREDONIA CHAMBER CHOIR, Dr. Gerald Gray, Director (Meets MW, 1:00 - 2:50 p.m.; audition required - sophomore and higher only)
- THE FREDONIA COLLEGE CHOIR, Dr. Gerald T. Gray, Director (Meets TR, 12:30 - 2:20 p.m.; audition required)
- THE FREDONIA WOMEN'S CHORUS, Mr. Justine Pomietlarz, Director (Meets TR, 5:00 - 6:50 p.m.; audition required)
- THE FREDONIA UNIVERSITY CHORUS, Dr. Barbara Brinson, Director (Meets MWF 3:00 - 3:50 p.m.; NO audition required)
All students are invited to audition regardless of major!
