Joni Milgram-Luterman

Bio:Dr. Joni Milgram-Luterman, MT-BC, LCAT, is the director of Music Therapy and Associate Professor of Music at SUNY Fredonia and Music Therapist in private practice. With degrees earned at Michigan State University (Ph.D. in Music Education with Music Therapy cognate, 2000; B.Mus. in Music Therapy, 1982) and the University of Western Ontario M.M. in Music Education, 1997), she is a Board Certified Music Therapist, a professional member of the American Music Therapy Association and a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist. Dr. Milgram-Luterman has been a music therapy clinician, supervisor, and educator in a variety of settings for twenty-five years. Her clinical focus is diverse and her research includes rehabilitation and undergraduate music therapy education. Dr. Milgram-Luterman is a guest lecturer on music therapy for professional groups such as Palliative Care workers, Alzheimer, stroke and Autism professional and support groups, and school district music teachers. She frequently presents her work and facilitates workshops at music therapy conferences, and her article, “Toward a disposition of music therapy expertise as expansion of the self,” was published in the Canadian Journal of Music Therapy (Volume 6, Number 2) in 1999, and released her first CD, "My Journey of Life," in 2009.
