Purpose

In 2006, AIGC awarded three scholarships to college graduates seeking further education. The program seeks to select the very brightest American Indian and Alaska Native students seeking a professional, teaching, social services, high technology or business degree.

Eligibility

Enrolled member of AI/AN federally recognized tribe; Have maintained a 3.3 GPA; Entering a U.S. accredited college or university as first year graduate or professional student; Demonstrated involvement or measurable interest in Native American activities or affairs; Demonstrated character, personal merit, commitment, and financial need.

General Information

Complete the AIGC 2008-2009 Fellowship Application, available January 2008 on website; complete application provides eligibility for all AIGC administered graduate/professional awards; it is possible to be granted multiple awards. A one-time, non-refundable application fee of $15 is required of new applicants.

Awards

Accenture Fellows: (2) $15,000 awards - advanced degree in business or a professional degree
Finalist Scholarships: (1) $2,500 award per year for 2 years

Required Documentation

Complete AIGC Fellowship Application with Fee, if applicable; Essay (250 words); Tribal Eligibility Certification (TEC); Financial Need Form (FNF) directly from Financial Aid Office.
