Purpose
|
SAA
established scholarship in honor of Arthur C. Parker (Seneca), first
president of the SAA who served from 1935-36; and secured funding from
the National Science Foundation (NSF) which together support training in
archaeological methods, including fieldwork, analytical techniques, and
curation.

Eligibility
|
Native
Americans and Native Hawaiians from the U.S. who are current students,
including high school seniors, college undergraduate and graduate
students enrolled in accredited colleges or universities or Tribal or
Native Hawaiian cultural preservation program personnel.

General Information
|
Preference
to training offered at accredited colleges and universities; other
programs considered on case by case basis; scholarship may be used for
tuition and/or expenses; SAA will contact program to negotiate matching
funds if available; Students may apply or be nominated; Application
available on website.
