Purpose

Established in 2002 as a partnership General Motors and the American Indian Science & Engineering Society.

Eligibility

Member of AISES; Enrolled American Indian or at least 1/4 blood or considered American Indian by the tribe with which affiliation claimed; Enrolled as fulltime undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university; Seeking a bachelor's or graduate degree in an engineering field; Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

General Information

Awards are for one academic year; GM gives preference to Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical engineering majors; Eligible applicants required to complete online inventory of skills administered by GM via the Internet; Application available on AISES website. Applicants not selected as recipients given consideration in the AISES A.T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship Program, if all criteria met.

Awards

$3,000/academic year.

Deadlines

June 15.

Complete Application Form; Official Transcripts; Essay meeting specified criteria; Proof of Tribal Enrollment or Descendancy: Resume; Two Recommendation Forms and Letters; AISES Membership and Dues if not current.
