Purpose

To provide assistance to American Indian students enrolled in health professions and allied health professions programs in the U.S.

Eligibility

American Indian/Alaska Native (federally recognized); Accepted or enrolled in a full/part time study program leading to a degree in a health related profession identified as a priority by IHS; Agree to service obligation and pay-back requirements as condition of award; 2.0 GPA required for continued eligibility.

General Information

Application and priority areas on website. Submit application early for technical review by Area office; Scholarship awarded for 1 year, requires reapplication for up to 4 years for full time or 8 years part time; Priority to Juniors, Seniors, Graduate students unless specified otherwise in priority listing.

Awards

Vary. Funds appropriated by Congress.

Deadlines

Must be postmarked no later than March 28, 2008 and arrive at the appropriate office by the next business day. (Request legible postmark and/or receipt.)
