Purpose

To encourage Senecas to pursue an education in the field of nursing.

Eligibility

An enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians pursuing an education in the nursing profession; Based upon need; Available to high school seniors as well as adults; Funds must be used for tuition or course-related expenses such as lab fees or books.

General Information

Established in 1993, in memory of Iola M. Henhawk, R.N., graduate of Thomas Indian School, Haskell Institute, Olean High School, and Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing; served in World War II; retired, 1975, from St. Francis Hospital, Olean. Award paid directly to college Financial Aid Office.

Complete Application; Certificate of Tribal Affiliation; College Acceptance Letter; Transcript; Personal Letter Stating Need and Use of Funds.
