Purpose

NALE is for Indian people who are working in schools as paraprofessionals. The program provides financial assistance to help them earn teaching credentials, counselor certification; or administrative credentials.

Eligibility

Must be at least 1/4 degree Indian blood and member of a "U. S. tribe"; Must apply to all other funding sources; Must attend an accredited college/university and show above average grade point average and ACT/SAT scores.

General Information

NALE operates nationwide and is not based on need. Scholarships are awarded on merit and student goals deemed most likely to improve the lives of Indian people. (CTD was formerly called the Native American Scholarship Fund.)

Complete Application Packet, Includes Certificate of Indian Blood; Essay; Three Letters of Recommendation; Financial Need Analysis Form; Official Transcripts; Copy of Standardized Test Scores and Applications to Other Financial Aid Sources; Copy of Letter of Admission.
