Purpose

The Nihewan Foundation focus is to help Native American students participate in learning; Nihewan is dedicated to improving the education of an about Native American people and cultures. From the Cree language, "Nihewan" means "talk Cree" which implies "Be Your Culture."

Eligibility

Tribal enrollment; Acceptance at accredited institution of learning; Proof of need; Proof of application to other foundations.

General Information

One-page application may be downloaded from web site and submitted to Foundation; they will contact student for an interview. Preference given to students of need who have applied elsewhere and still need funding.
