Purpose

To provide financial assistance to eligible Native Americans for study in approved undergraduate programs at institutions of higher education in New York State.

Eligibility

Residents who are officially enrolled members of the St. Regis Mohawks, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca Nation of Indians, Tonawanda Band of Senecas, Tuscaroras; the Shinnecock and Poospatuck; and children of such enrolled members. Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average.

General Information

Student must submit a request for funding each semester. Award check is sent directly to college. The maximum total awards per student are: $4,000 for two-year college students; $8,000 for four year college students.

Awards

$1,000 per semester for full-time students; $85 per credit hour for part time students.
