Purpose

The Intertribal Timber Council is dedicated to supporting American Indian and Alaska Native students pursuing higher education in the natural resources by sponsoring a scholarship in honor of Truman D. Picard.

Eligibility

Pursuing higher education to study Natural Resources; High school student graduating in 2007 or student currently attending an institution of higher education; Enrolled member of federally recognized tribe or Alaska Native Corporation as established by the U.S. government.

General Information

Must demonstrate commitment to education, community and culture, academic merit, financial need, and interest in Natural Resources.

Awards

Graduating High School Seniors $1,500 each
Currently Enrolled College Students $2,000 each

Deadlines

March 31, 2008:  Complete application must be received by close of business, 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time

Required Documentation

Letter of Application; Resume; Three Letters of Reference; Validated Enrollment - U.S. Federally Recognized Tribe or Native Alaska Corporation; Letter of Acceptance or Enrollment in area of Natural Resources; Transcript.
