Purpose

To financially assist deserving Native American girls in acquiring a higher education with a view toward developing their full potential.

Eligibility

At least 50% Native American; Female; Reside in and graduated from an accredited high school in New York State with a B+ average; Plan to attend or are attending a college, university, or graduate school accredited by the NYS Department of Education.

General Information

Criteria for award include general ability, character, and citizenship.

Awards

$1,000; may vary depending upon available funds. Scholarship payment in two installments: August 1 and January 1.

Deadlines

May 1, 2008 filing date for entries.

Required Documentation

Complete Application; Official High School Transcript; Proof of at least 50% Native heritage; College Acceptance Letter; Recommendation/Statement from High School Official; Transcripts; Personal Statement of Educational Plans; Goals; Small photo.
