Purpose |
To encourage the entry of qualified American Indians and Alaskan Natives into the library profession. |
Eligibility |
Enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe; Demonstrate sustained involvement in and commitment to American Indian community, concerns and initiatives; Admitted to a graduate program in Library/Information Sciences Accredited by the American Library Association; Enrolled a minimum of 6 hours each semester of the year scholarship awarded. |
General Information |
Preference to applicants employed in a tribal library or who are currently employed in a library serving American Indian populations. Financial need will be considered in determining scholarship recipients. Recipients may reapply in subsequent years but may not receive an award for more than two consecutive years. |
