Purpose |
Established in 1983 in memory of A.T. Anderson (Mohawk), a chemical engineer, who founded AISES with six other American Indian scientists. |
Eligibility |
Member of AISES; Enrolled American Indian or at least 1/4 blood or considered American Indian by the tribe with which affiliation claimed; Full time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited four year college/university or an accredited two year college in a program leading to an academic degree; Majoring in Business, Math, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Sciences, or Natural Resources; Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. |
General Information |
The A.T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship is AISES' largest scholarship program. Administered by AISES, this program awards scholarships to college students pursuing degrees in the sciences, engineering, medicine, natural resources, and math. $100,000 in scholarships were awarded to 85 students in 2009. The students are selected based on exceptional academic merit and leadership. |
