Purpose

To provide a modest stipend to support students engaged in furthering their studies.  This is especially geared toward students pursuing college and/or graduate studies in any course of study.  Stipends are also provided for artists pursuing an art project independently (not as part of a college program).

Eligibility

Any age students, but geared toward college students or beyond.

General Information

The IAC is a small, volunteer committee with limited resources that meets three times a year to consider stipend applications: Early April, late July, mid November. Preference will be given to first-time applicants; those not receiving stipends due to funding limitations will be considered at the following meeting.

Awards

$450 or less; Depends upon availability of funds - typically $200-$250.

Deadlines

Well in advance of IAC meetings in April, July and November (see General Information.)

Required Documentation

Complete Application Form; If possible, Documentation of Tribal Enrollment; Name of Academic Advisor to contact for further information; Transcripts and Recommendations are helpful, but not required.  We appreciate receiving a letter from the applicant sharing some information about personal goals and telling us how the stipend funds would be used.
