Purpose |
To provide assistance to American Indian students enrolled in health professions and allied health professions programs in the U.S. |
Eligibility |
American Indian/Alaska Native (federal/state recognized); Accepted/enrolled in full or part time study leading to a degree in a health related profession identified as a priority by IHS; Agree to service obligation and pay-back requirements as condition of award; 2.0 GPA required for new and continued eligibility. |
General Information |
Application will be available online December 2009. See website for application and priority areas. Submit application early for technical review by the Area Scholarship Coordinator. Scholarship awarded for 1 year, requires reapplication for up to 4 years for full time or 8 years for part time; Priority to Juniors, Seniors, Graduate students unless specified otherwise in priority listing. |

Annual awards vary. Funds appropriated by Congress. |
Deadlines |
Must be postmarked no later than March 28, 2010 and sent to the appropriate Area Scholarship Office. (request legible postmark and/or receipt.) Continuing applications must be postmarked no later than February 28, 2010 |
