Purpose |
NIEA has established scholarships for nominations among members; the John Rouillard and Alice Tonemah Scholarships recognize demonstrated leadership and role model qualities, academic achievement, creativity, and commitment to education. |
Eligibility |
American Indian or Alaska Native currently enrolled full time, pursuing an associate's, bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree; Must be a member of NIEA to nominate; student must be a member. |
General Information |
Nomination forms are contained in the NIEA's annual Call to Convention, generally distributed in June-July. Scholarship winners are announced at the annual fall convention banquet. Membership fees may be submitted with nomination. |

$1,000 - $2,500. |
