Purpose
|
The Seneca Diabetes Foundation has established the Barry and Deanna Snyder, Sr. Chairman's Scholarship to assist a Seneca Nation student pursuing a college or university degree in the health or social services professions. It is the hope of the Seneca Diabetes Foundation that the student receiving this scholarship will use his or her education and training to benefit the Seneca people, especially in regard to the fight against diabetes, which affects approximately 50 percent of the population.

Eligibility
|
Enrolled SNI member pursuing a college or university degree in health or social services professions.

General Information
|
Awarding the Chairman's Scholarship will be based primarily on the student's financial need, but also on involvement in community and cultural activities, as well as personal assets such as fortitude, leadership, integrity, and a focus on improving the quality of life for the Seneca people. Applicants for this scholarship must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA; and maintain that average for the second year in order to receive funding for the second year.
