Availability

15 scholars selected for 9 week summer internship, May 21 - July 28, 2007.

Eligibility

Rising senior or graduated within 12 months from an accredited U.S. college or university with a bachelor's degree; U.S. citizen; Demonstrate active interest in health policy, strong writing and leadership skills, community commitment; Current law, medical, and graduate students not eligible.

Information

Program seeks to increase the number of minority health policy professionals; provides a congressional office internship placement for first-hand experience in public service and an opportunity to develop critical thinking and leadership skills.

Benefits/Award

$2,000 Stipend upon completion; Allowance for Incidentals (meals, transportation); Transportation to/from Washington, D.C.; Lodging at Howard University. Total support approximately $7,500.
