Five Fellowships Awarded May - September 2008.

Eligibility

To be an indigenous representative; Ability, willingness to train other indigenous persons after return to respective communities/organizations; Support of their indigenous community/organization; basic understanding of English. Not limited by formal education or age, although preference given to those 25-35 years old.

Information

The aim of the program is to give indigenous people the opportunity to gain knowledge of the UN system and mechanisms dealing with human rights in general and indigenous issues in particular so they can assist their organizations and communities in protecting and promoting the rights of their people. Benefits/Award

Round trip from country of residence to Geneva; Modest accommodation, health insurance, and monthly grant for living expenses.
