Eligibility

Undergraduate/graduate Native American students interested in medicine or biomedical research. Selection criteria will focus on student's motivation, maturity, and willingness to succeed beyond usual expectations. Must have completed freshman year of college by program start date.

Information

An opportunity to conduct basic science research with Harvard faculty and to network with peers, colleagues. No previous research experience required though introductory biology is recommended. Applicants from rural colleges, community colleges, and adult learners encouraged to apply. Application on website. Applications/Letters of Recommendation not accepted by fax. Notification by April 1st.

Benefits/Award

Airfare, transportation, lodging; a stipend of at least $2500 to cover food and incidentals. No fees.

Required Documentation

Complete Application, includes written responses to questions; Two Letters of Recommendation - one to address relationship to Native community and one to address academic performance.
