Availability

Placement with federal, state, and non-profit agencies. Summer, Semester, 6-month, and year-long internships. All majors - particularly natural and earth sciences, history, communications; computer skills welcome in all disciplines.

Eligibility

Must be 18 years of age or older. GPA of 2.5 or higher is recommended but not required. Incomplete applications not considered for placement.

Information

SCA's mission is to build the next generation of conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of environment and communities by engaging young people in hands-on service to the land. Professional orientation offered for summer session. Career services available (scholarships, jobs, special opportunities.)

Benefits/Award

Expense-paid and paid internships available; Weekly stipends from $50-520 depending on position and education level; Housing provided for most internships; Travel provided or reimbursed.

Deadline

Applications accepted on a rolling basis. Early consideration deadline for summer is February 1, 2008.

Required Documentation

Standard SCA Application (available on-line); $25 fee; Transcript; Three References; Resume and Personal Statement Recommended but not required. Fee may be waived in cases of financial hardship.
