Availability

One project will be selected annually.

Eligibility

Native artist with support from a community youth organization; Must have at least 10 years' experience in the art world and reflect significant accomplishments. Individuals enrolled in a degree program are not eligible.

Information

Promotes involvement with youth in local communities by developing a design plan to reflect cultural values, ideas, and images based upon research at local museums, libraries, etc. Involves proposing location, planning, art instruction class, and work with youth to complete mural within three months. Will present or dedicate mural with documentation by NMAI, local media. Written evaluation required. Application available on website.

Benefits/Award

$6,000 contract base for completion of mural. Supplies (paint, brushes, etc.) provided by Community Services Department up to $1,000.
