Eligibility

Visiting Student Awards are for currently enrolled advanced graduate students.

Information

Visiting Students pursue independently designed research projects in association with Smithsonian staff. The Native American Awards Program supports Native students and scholars affiliated with a Native American community or tribe to visit the Institution to use its Native American-related resources in association with or under the supervision of Smithsonian research staff. Application available on website.

Benefits/Award

$100/day for up to 21 days; or $400 per week for 3 - 10 weeks; Travel Allowance; Small Research Allowance.

Deadline

February 1    for Summer Program (to begin after June 1)
February 1    for Fall Program (to begin after Oct 1)
October 1     for Winter/Spring (to begin after Feb 1)
