Availability

Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring Programs; approx. 10 weeks; Vary by department, location (Heye Ctr, NY, NY; CRC, Suitland, MD; Staff Offices, Washington, D.C.)

Eligibility

Undergraduate or Graduate Student; Currently enrolled in a University program; Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.

Information

Provides an educational opportunity for students in museum practice and program development through guided work and research using NMAI and Smithsonian resources; 20 hrs/week minimum without stipend or 40 hrs/week with stipend. Applicants may initiate arrangements for college credit.

Benefits/Award

A limited number of stipends target American Indian, Hawaiian, Alaska Natives; Stipends assist but are not sufficient to cover all expenses; Housing may be provided in the summer.
