Availability

12 candidates selected. Summer, 10 weeks.

Eligibility

Enrolled member of a recognized tribe; college/university Junior or Senior, Graduate or Law student, or Student graduating from a Tribal College; Minimum 3.0 GPA; Interest in tribal government and policy; self-motivated; commitment to learning about federal government.

Information

An intensive internship in Washington, D.C., where Interns will work full-time in a congressional office to gain firsthand knowledge of the government processes; practical experiences in the legislative process, congressional matters, and governmental proceedings. Must submit a Legislative Research Report and Program Evaluation upon completion. Application available on website.

Benefits/Award

$1,200 stipend upon completion of internship; Airfare to and from Washington, D.C.; dormitory lodging at a local university, daily allowance for meals, transportation, and incidentals.
