First Nations Development Institute's Internship Program
is available for full-time undergraduate (junior/senior) or graduate
students interested in policy research and issues affecting Indigenous
peoples. Applicant must have excellent writing and communication skills,
strong computer skills, and a minimum GPA of 3.0. The internship has an
open deadline and is available for the Summer, Fall or Spring Semester.
This is an unpaid internship but academic credit is optional. Benefits include:
an opportunity for involvement in community economic development;
agriculture and food; banking and finance; hands-on research and performing

International Institute for Indigenous Resource Management's Internship Program is
available for undergraduate and graduate students. Indigenous
students, other minorities and women are encouraged to apply. The
institute is a non-profit corporation established to assist Indian tribes
and other indigenous peoples in the sustainable utilization, management,
development and conservation of their natural resources. Stiped and

Iroquois Indian Museum's
Education Internship
is an on-going internship available for students of Iroquoian descent. The
internship provides support to the museum's Iroquois Educator by working
with school groups, storytelling, arts & crafts, group tours of the

National Congress of American Indians' Internship and Fellowship
Program. Internships are available for summer or semester periods
for students enrolled in institutions of higher learning. They are unpaid
but NCAI will cooperate to insure academic credit or financial support.
Fellowships are for an 11-month period beginning in September for students
who have completed undergraduate degrees and wish to gain work experience.

Native American Rights
Fund School Year
Clerkships/Internships open for one semester for students in their
third year of law school. Students may work either for financial
compensation or school credit. Paid positions are part time (20 hrs/wk)
for students at a school located near one of NARF's three offices. School
credit positions are either full or part time and are open to students
nationwide whose law schools offer educational credit for work programs.
Each NARF office selects its own clerks. School year clerkship
appointments are made on a rolling basis. It is recommended that
arrangements for a Fall clerkship be made in the Spring and a Spring

Northern Arizona University
and the Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals &
Environmental Education Outreach Program's Short Internship Program
available for high school and college students for 1 to 2 weeks in the
summer. The internship provides an opportunity to work with a tribal
environmental professional on air quality or related issues impacting
tribal nations. Internship should be close to your home or school. Provide
contact info if you know an office near you working on tribal air quality.
If accepted, you will receive assistance in identifying a location for your
internship. Benefits include: $500 per week and gain hands-on-skills.

School for Advanced Research - Indian Arts Research Center's Internship Program
generally available on a semester basis or during the summer for a 3-4
month term for students who have an interest in Native American art or
culture. The internship is unpaid and requires a minimum of 160 hours of
work, but the schedule would be negotiable and flexible. Benefits include
valuable, practical experience and personal and professional development.

Seneca Gaming Corporation's Internship Program
offered year round with a minimum length of six weeks and a maximum of
three months for full-time students enrolled in a post-high school
technical program related to the gaming industry or Jr/Sr in a 4 yr.
undergraduate program or graduate program. The Internship is offered in
Finance, Food & Beverage, Human Resources, Marketing, Info Tech, and
Resort & Slot Operations. Placement will be at the Seneca Niagara
Casino or Seneca Allegany Casino. All interns are paid $10/hr, receive free
meal in employee dining room, free parking, and they may participate in

Ambassadors Program is a Native American community
capacity-building, leadership development effort that AIO has been
operation since 1993. The program encourages participants to weave
their respective traditional tribal values into a
contemporary reality Open to American Indians, Alaska Natives,
and Native Hawaiians from the United States between ages 25-35. The
program is tuition free and all travel expenses are paid for by AIO.

January 31, 2008: The Morris K. Udall Foundation's Native American
Congressional Internship is for enrolled members of federally
recognized tribes, college/university junior or senior, graduate or law
student, or student graduating from a tribal college. Must have
a 3.0 GPA, interest in tribal government and policy, self motivated
and have a commitment to learning about federal government. Twelve
candidates will be awarded a $1,200 stipend upon completion of internship.
