Eligibility

Native American students, 16-18 years of age, who are planning to enter a health career; To accompany the students, AAIP will select counselors, ages 21 and older, to serve as role models and chaperones.  Native American medical and health professional students preferred but not required.

Information

NNAYI is designed to prepare American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) high school students for admission to college and professional school and to encourage them to pursue a career in the areas of health science and biomedical research. Curriculum is presented in a series of lectures, interactive workshops, and field trips. Students will learn about various health professions, college and medical school admission process, financial aid resources, and health care issues affecting AI/AN communities.
