Eligibility
|
The School for Advanced Research, Indian Arts Research Center (IARC) offers two nine-month internships to individuals who are recent graduates, current graduate students or junior museum professionals interested in furthering their professional museum experience and enhancing their intellectual capacity for contributing to the expanding field and discourse of the museum. One position is open to a Native American individual, while the second is available to both Native and non-Native applicants.

Information
|
The interns will devote their time to working on IARC programs, directed research and writing activities, and collections management and registration. In addition to daily duties, specific requirements including presenting a research paper at the SAR Colliquium Series; attending a national conference; assisting in the coordination and the facilitation of one IARC seminar or symposium; providing tours of the IARC collection; and working on outreach initiatives to Native communities. If selected, the intern must agree to participate in interviews, photo sessions, video recordings, and exit interviews to document the intern's experience.
