The Fredonia Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. David Rudge of the SUNY Fredonia School of Music, will perform a mix of classical and contemporary works on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. in the university’s Juliet J. Rosch Recital Hall.

Slated for the program is Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 1, to be followed by Georg Phillip Telemann’s Overture in E minor.

SUNY Fredonia Concerto Competition winners will also perform contemporary works with the chamber orchestra. Soprano Laura Noack of Orchard Park will perform Samuel Barber’s “Knoxville: Summer of 1915,” and members of the Erie Saxophone Quartet, comprised of students Jacob Swanson of Gowanda, Jill Carere of North Tonawanda, and Sarah Marchitelli and Melissa Widzinski of Rochester, will perform Philip Glass’ Concerto for Saxophone Quartet.

The concert is free and the public is invited to attend.
