COPC Program will offer professional workshops in 2009

COPC Professional Development Series

The fourth and final Professional Development Workshop offered by SUNY Fredonia Dunkirk Community Outreach Partnership Center (COPC) and the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation completed its grant writing series Thursday, Nov. 20, at the JCC North campus.

The final workshop topic ‘Fundraising Out of the Box’, guided participants through traditional and non traditional avenues of fundraising and sustainability for not for profit agencies.

Previous workshop topics included: ‘A History of Grant Writing: What Grants Are and Are Not’; ‘Panel Discussion with Local Funders’; and, ‘Essential Technical Skills for Successful Grant Writing’.

As shown above, center, David Doino, Director of Development for the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, offers insights to a group of agency representatives and community members regarding the advantages of Endowment Planning for organizations. Also, participating in the workshop are Kathy Peterson, Executive Director of Chautauqua County Rural Ministry (at right), and Rich Goodman, Professor Emeritus and Co-Principal Investigator of COPC, at left.

The Professional Development Workshops and Rich Goodman’s "Close Encounters" Series will be offered again in 2009.
