Mary Cobb of the Fredonia School of Music will present a faculty recital on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall, entitled, “Mary Cobb and Friends.”

The concert will feature Ms. Cobb performing works by Mozart and Chopin. “Friends” joining her after the intermission are colleagues on the Fredonia School of Music faculty: Brian Walnicki, Wildy Zumwalt, Angela Dilkey, and Mario Falcao. The latter part of the program will include works by Willey, Nin, and Kahn.

Before returning to her hometown and joining the Fredonia faculty in 1998, Ms. Cobb maintained a large teaching studio in Manhattan. She was a finalist in the Artist’s International Competition and has performed with Arcadia and the Fredonia Trio. At Fredonia she teaches class and studio piano and chamber music coaching. She is founder and director of American Renaissance Theater Chamber Music Workshop, and created Music Maestro, a music teaching game.

Mr. Walnicki performs regularly with the Erie Philharmonic, Erie Chamber Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic and Slee Sinfonietta. He is an adjunct professor of viola at SUNY Fredonia and principle viola for the Western New York Chamber Orchestra.

Dr. Wildy Zumwalt coordinates the saxophone program at SUNY Fredonia and is a saxophonist with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra. He is a frequent soloist and clinician throughout the U.S. and was a featured soloist on NPR’s “Performance Today” in 1999.

A soprano, Dr. Dilkey is a visiting assistant professor of voice at SUNY Fredonia. She continues to pursue her performing career and has sung with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Western New York Chamber Orchestra, the Midland-Odessa Orchestra in Texas, and at Tanglewood Music Festival.

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Mario Falcao was a prize winner at the 5th International Harp Competition and is a founding member of the World Harp Congress and is currently a member of its board of directors. An international performer, he also conducts master classes and has recorded several CDs and LPs.
