The fourth annual Stroke Awareness Walk, sponsored by the Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders at SUNY Fredonia to increase public awareness of strokes and stroke prevention, will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m.

The two-mile walk along Central Avenue starts and ends at the Youngerman Center in Thompson Hall, located near the main campus entrance on Central. Faculty of the Communication Disorders and Sciences Department, professional staff members and graduate students will distribute the educational materials and conduct the hearing screenings.

There is no fee to participate in the event. A lunch will be served after the walk. For more information or to register, contact Julie Williams, coordinator, at (716) 673-3203 or, or go to the SUNY Fredonia website and click on the Communication Disorders and Sciences link to register on-line.
