Students invited to Spring Job and Internship Expo
Monday, March 10, 2014

A roster that could include more than 60 businesses, human-service agencies, technology firms and governmental organizations is being assembled by the Career Development Office for the Spring Job and Internship Expo to be held on Tuesday, March 11, at the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.

Students and alumni can obtain information on a variety of full-time, part-time and summer job opportunities as well as internships that are available, primarily in the Western New York area, at the expo, which runs from 2 to 5 p.m.

Nearly 300 students took advantage of networking opportunities provided at last year’s expo. Prospective employers and internship hosts typically begin interviewing students in the next several weeks following the expo.

The Career Development Office, which hosts the expos, assists students with cover letter and resumé writing and interview skills to prepare for the expo and future job/internship searches. An “interview face-off” – an interactive event that demonstrates proper interview techniques – will be held on Wednesday, March 5, at S204 Williams Center. InterviewStream, an online program that students can use to practice interview skills, will be used to record interview answers on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the CDO in Gregory Hall.

More than 200 academic credit internships in the areas of business, communication, humanities, science, education and fine arts were facilitated by the Career Development Office in the Fall 2013 semester. That represented a 10 percent increase over 2012’s internship total.

There is no admission fee for students or employers at the expo.

For a list of employers who have already registered, see The list will be continually updated as more employers sign up for the event.
