Students to host Relay for Life in fieldhouse on April 12

One in every three people will be diagnosed with cancer some time in their life. SUNY Fredonia students will go the distance to “Finish the Fight” against cancer with the annual Relay for Life hosted by Colleges Against Cancer on April 12 from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. April 13 in Steele Hall fieldhouse.

Relay For Life is a national event put on at different organizations across the country. All of the proceeds raised during this event goes directly to the American Cancer Society (ACS) for research and to assist cancer patients to make their fight more affordable.

The registration fee is $20. The registration fee is a donation in and of itself to jump start the fundraising. The them for the SUNY Fredonia student relay is Dr. Seuss’ “So come one, come all, let’s have a ball!”

SUNY Fredonia's Colleges Against Cancer works directly with the ACS to hold events that raise awareness for cancer and show support to those affected by cancer in some way. The students strive to help the ACS find a cure to make the words “you have cancer” more bearable to hear.
