Seymore named to MAAC Hall Honor Roll

Coach Phil Seymore

Fredonia men's basketball coach Phil Seymore, a former standout player at Canisius College, has been named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Hall of Fame Honor Roll.

Seymore will be enshrined Oct. 17 during a ceremony at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. He is the fifth former Golden Griffin named to the Honor Roll, joining Anthony Masiello, Henry Nowak, Frank Swiatek, and Ray Hall.

A two-year player with the Golden Griffins, Seymore was inducted into the Canisius Sports Hall of Fame in 1996 and was selected to the Canisius Men's Basketball All-Century Team in 2004.

He is about to start his third season as head coach of the Blue Devils. Prior to coming to Fredonia, he was a men's assistant coach at Canisius, Richmond and Providence as well as the women's head coach at Providence.
