Tennis goes 3 for 3

Fredonia women's tennis won its third match in three days on Oct. 3, a 5-4 victory over Medaille at the Miller Tennis Center in Williamsville.

The Blue Devils (6-4) also defeated Pitt-Bradford, 5-1, in a shortened match Friday, Oct. 2, at Bradford, Pa. That was on the heels of a 7-2 home win Oct. 1 over D'Youville.

Fredonia won four of the six singles matches and one doubles match Saturday vs. Medaille. Singles winners were junior Chloe Cohen (West Hempstead), junior Halee Dickinson (Brockport), sophomore Chloe Karnisky (Canandaigua), and freshman Christine Thomas (Ransomville). Karnisky teamed with freshman Olivia Miller (Springwater) for the doubles win.

The truncated win at Pitt-Bradford on Friday featured singles wins by Miller, freshman Julia Taboni (Depew), and junior Phoebe Langdon (Syracuse), and doubles wins by the tandems of Cohen and Dickinson, and Thomas and senior Jessica Young (Port Allegany, Pa.).

The Blue Devils close out their regular season at home Tuesday, Oct. 6 vs. Alfred University before heading to SUNYAC Tournament play next Friday afternoon, Oct. 9, vs. New Paltz at the Binghamton Tennis Center.
