The Fredonia men's swimming and diving team opened the season with a 157-135 loss to Allegheny on Saturday, Oct. 3

A trio of swimmers won an individual event, while all three each added a relay victory. Divers Rafael Santiago (Middletown/Middletown) and Arron Carlson (LeRoy/Notre Dame) claimed top spots off their respective boards.

Bill Bradley (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) took the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 56.85, Adam Clouthier (Fairport/Fairport) won the breast stroke in 1:03.84 and Troy Lubanski (Leicester/York) won the 100 IM in 57.44.

All three -- plus Will Baker (East Amherst/Williamsville North) -- combined to win the 200-yard medley in 1:41.8.

Santiago was the top diver off the 1-meter board with a score of 239.00. Carlson's 237.50 was good enough to take the 3-meter board.

The team is off next weekend before heading to Niagara University on Oct. 17.
